2010 Wild Food Summit

The 2010 Wild Food Summit is an annual gathering of wild food enthusiasts in the
North woods of Minnesota. We will identify, harvest and prepare many delicious and
healthy wild foods as we discover how easily they can be a part of our regular diets.

Summit Schedule:

• June 16: Camp day: Arrive and set up your site. Potluck Dinner and
workshop introduction at 6:00 p.m., followed by a campfire social.

• June 17-18: Full day of teaching, gathering and sharing wild foods.

• June 19: part day/ pack up and break down camp after lunch.

What we do: We will learn to identify and collect wild foods with participating wild food
enthusiasts. We will prepare and cook what we gather over a fire or in a baking pit. We
will also learn about the medicinal and utilitarian uses of plants.

What to bring: A gathering bag, drinking water, good knife, dishes and utensils,
towels, swimsuit, folding chair, toilet paper, lantern, notebook & pencil, tent, bedrolls,
jacket, rain gear and any other amenities you may need.

Alcohol or drugs are NOT allowed.
FOR Safety Reasons: NO PETS allowed

Registration: $100 per families, $50 for an individual

    The Wild Food Summit is an intensive, hands-on experience that explores ways to identify, harvest and prepare wild foods. With the guidance of the presenters, participants forage for food and prepare meals using pit cooking and outdoor baking. The annual event also explores the utilitarian and medicinal uses of plants.
